Split Open A Pill?

You should not split open a Vyvanse pill, unless it is directed by your doctor. Some of the components of this drug may be oxidized or will lose its effectiveness by splitting it open.

You may think that doing so may decrease your chances of experiencing negative side effects of this medicine. But this does not help in decreasing its side effects. It may even cause the drug to be inutile. You should also remember that any type of medicine is sterile. The tool that you use when splitting it may contaminate the drug and may cause problems to your system.

If you have a problem with Vyvanse, you should talk to your doctor and do not attempt to split it open. It is not a wise idea and the best way to lower its side effects. Your doctor may prescribe you a lower dose. But he may or may not recommend splitting the pill. This drug is designed to deliver its components in a certain way. If you cut it into two, you may be altering its variables. Your healthcare provider knows better. Or you may consult your pharmacist regarding this matter. But most pills are meant to be kept together when taking it and should not be cut.
